About Gary Wood

I have been in software development since the early 80's initially a consultant building an IBM IMS Arkansas Teacher and Public Employees retirement system. After that, I was the architect for providing a single source solution that runs on both IBM MVS and VSE computer architectures for Systematics Inc. that was a retail banking software company. Ultimately, I was the international development manager for overseeing the changes for domestic software to work in many international locations and spent 10 years travelling worldwide for support and speaking at banking conferences. In the till now I've been working for Microsoft in many roles from a test manager to an engineer in the areas of big data analysis using Microsoft's version of Hadoop called Cosmos, doing analysis and on Windows software update telemetry for solving customer update problems. Lately, I work on the software update packaging system that creates the update packages containing software updates for Windows 10/11. I'm the architect of the new portal used for submission for package requests and monitoring the packaging processes. This site is one of the largest.NET6 BLAZOR server websites within Microsoft where I worked using rapid development processes to bring the site online within 2 months where it was initially planned to take a much more extended timeframe. Today, I'm acting as mentor for other team members at Microsoft, expanding my knowledge of managing large website developments using BLAZOR and I work at an ambassador for Seattle Symphony at Microsoft to bring the arts to Microsoft and coordinate joint Microsoft and Seattle Symphony events.
