Gary Yurt, the founder and President of Industrial Safety & Training Services, LLC, has garnered significant experience in every aspect of safety management. Mr. Yurt’s expertise includes directing health and safety teams to meet aggressive corporate safety goals. A recognized authority on implementing improvements to workplace safety, Gary Yurt possesses in-depth knowledge in such key areas as regulatory compliance, behavior-based safety, and training development and design. A Safety Management Consultant since 2002, Gary Yurt manages a seven-person team and a national list of more than 30 clients. Industrial Safety & Training Services (ISTS) specializes in working with clients on every detail related to emergency and safety management. Recently, Mr. Yurt consulted with British Petroleum (BP) after an accident on the Deep Water Horizon rig led to an oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, providing affordable responses and emphasizing self-sustainability initiatives. Gary Yurt offers ISTS clients a range of important services, including reviewing and updating Emergency Response Plans and Procedures, offering third-party safety audits, and providing recommendations for appropriate emergency response materials. In addition, he evaluates client equipment to monitor compliance with codes established by the Department of Transportation (DOT), the Office of Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). With a deep understanding of regulatory issues, he teaches DOT, OSHA, and EPA courses and develops instructional safety materials. Gary Yurt holds a Master of Science in Loss Prevention and Safety Administration, a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Risk Management and Safety Engineering, and an Associate of Arts in Fire Service Administration from Eastern Kentucky University.
