Senior aviation professional with 30 years of experience in high growth markets across the world. These include geographies where I have taken up assignments: in Asia- Japan, China, Philippines, Pacific Islands of Guam and Saipan (Micronesia), in Africa- South Africa & Swaziland and closer home in the Sub-continent at Maldives and India. Intimately familiar with Vietnam having lived in Saigon(HCMC). Prior work assignments include management positions with Quikjet Freighter Airline based in Bangalore, a large US based legacy carrier- Northwest Airlines (now merged with Delta), a regional boutique Airline based in The Philippines-SEAIR (Now Cebgo), India’s first low cost airline company- Air Deccan and the first Greenfield airport built in India- Bangalore International. Have worked with South Africa’s National Carrier- South African Airways at its HQ at Johannesburg as Head of International Network Planning and Fleet Development. Have also worked in a senior role as Strategy Advisor at China’s HNA group, based at their HQ at Haikou in Hainan Island, China & at Mega Maldives, a Charter Airline based in Maldives focused on the China market. Gaurav is an MBA from Asian Institute of Management, Manila, Philippines and holds a diploma in Transport Management from National University of Singapore. He is an alumnus of Singapore Aviation Academy.
