About Gauri Devidayal

Gauri Devidayal is a multifaceted entrepreneur and restaurateur currently serving as the co-founder of The Table, one of South Mumbai’s most celebrated dining establishments, and Magazine St. Kitchen, a culinary and community hub in Byculla. Known for her dedication to quality and innovation in the culinary world, Gauri has also co-founded a suite of successful brands, including Iktara, Mag St Bread Co, Mag St Toppings, Miss T Delivery, and the recently launched Mag St Cafe in Colaba. A law graduate from University College London and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales, Gauri began her career as a tax consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers in London and Mumbai, where she spent eight years honing her skills in finance and strategy. Her career took an unexpected turn when she ventured into hospitality, joining forces with her husband, Jay, to launch The Table, despite having no formal background in the industry. Her passion for food and beverage is further evidenced by her Spirits Education Trust’s Level distinction and her ongoing involvement on the jury panel of the India Wine Awards. Gauri’s journey in the hospitality industry has been marked by numerous accolades, including The Table's recognition as one of the World’s 50 Best Restaurants. Her contributions to the culinary field have earned her a place on Forbes India’s 120 Leaders of Change, GQ’s 50 Most Influential Young Indians, and BlackBook’s Top 50 Women in Indian Luxury. In addition, she holds leadership roles in the National Restaurant Association of India as Joint Secretary and serves on the Advisory Board of leap.club, a network dedicated to increasing female representation in leadership. An avid podcaster, Gauri hosts four popular shows, including 'Speak Greasy', ‘This Round Is On Me’ and 'Women on Top in India,' where she explores conversations with leaders, visionaries, and entrepreneurs. Recently, she published her first book, Diamonds for Breakfast, offering an insider’s view of running a beloved Mumbai restaurant.
