About Gauri Sharma

In 2023, I was featured in the annual Vogue Business 100 Innovators list as a Sustainability Thought Leader among a group of founders, activists, organizers, and designers, all working toward a common goal: to bring fashion’s footprint within the realm of planetary boundaries, minimizing waste and spent resources. I’m passionate about enabling collaboration between various stakeholders to create a sustainable and equitable fashion industry. I lead sustainability communications and innovation for India's largest apparel manufacturer, Shahi Exports, and have managed multi-stakeholder projects in areas such as sustainable cotton, workers' wellbeing, circular economy, and innovation. In January 2018, I co-founded SUSS, India's first community creating learning resources for those on a mission to drive meaningful change in the fashion industry. As part of my master’s program in Sustainability Leadership at the University of Cambridge, I researched the role of the buyer-supplier relationship in accelerating circular fashion.
