About Gavin Brooks

Side? I am on nobody’s side, because nobody is on my side, little orc." — Treebeard, The Lord of the Rings My deep passion for nature has led me to pursue a career in ecological consultancy. I obtained a 1st class BSc Civil Engineering from the University of South Wales and have gained three years of experience in a geotechnical and geo-environmental consultancy. However, I realized something was missing. My personal connection to nature through activities like gardening, camping, hiking, and foraging became too significant to ignore. This inspired me to shift my career focus toward protecting and preserving the natural world. After gaining two years of experience in horticulture, I dedicated to a transition into ecological consultancy. I have completed ETUK's "Certificate in Ecological Consultancy," This applied course, involving both online learning and fieldwork, has provided me with essential practical skills and knowledge. Please see education and courses for details) I have previous experience with AutoCAD and hope to increase my GIS skills in my new role. During my course, I completed a QGIS for BNG (Biodiversity Net Gain). I have proudly obtained an assistant ecologist role at TACP (UK).
