About Gavin Campbell

I am a newly graduated mechanical engineer looking for work in the aerospace engineering and hope to study it in graduate school in the coming years. I have recently completed and passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam and am a certified Engineer in Training and hope to eventually achieve a PE certification after working in industry. Although most of my previous experience is in the field of renewables, I have realized that aerospace is the industry in which I want to pursue my future career as my dream is to work directly with the research and design of mechanical parts and products that contribute to the operation of flying vehicles. I am excited to work in a hands-on role to apply the engineering principles I have learned throughout my college experience and within industry as a design engineer and use my time management skills to effectively see projects through to completion. My previous internship experiences have allowed me to develop many different hard and soft skills including: working to develop and innovate 3D Solidworks models of new products that are currently in use while being mindful of financial requirements, working independently across multiple departments to test and analyze current products and the problems they run into, updating Solidworks drawings of current products to reflect the necessary GD & T requirements to allow these products to fit within necessary parameters and utilizing Solidworks Simulation software to utilize FEA analysis in order to modify products to continuously improve products and limit the rate of failure of products. With contributions from peers, I have written multiple project reports that concisely describe the project progress and completion and presented this information to the public. I am excited to begin my career within the aerospace industry and look forward to the challenges and innovations that will come along with it.
