About Gavin Eads

As a hopeful and young professional, finding the right position that allows development of skills and connections is important to me. Through the time I spent at Manchester University, I learned from both professors and peers alike of the importance in being focused and dedicated in the workplace. This created a foundation for a career path, which developed into what is now a goal for me: find a position in business management. Although I majored in Criminology, my passion at Manchester became my minor; business management. Not only was it a passion, but a potential future I have since sought after graduation. The concept of business management seems simple, but it is also ever-changing, which too allows for my second minor of entrepreneurship to play a key role in this specific position. Using concepts such as adaptability and resourcefulness that I learned in coursework through entrepreneurship and business management, I am determined to create a greater flowing and overall better business plan for my future employer. Coursework in business management allowed me to develop a specific intrigue in the field. As a final project, a peer and I were tasked with first developing a product and company, and secondly creating a business plan in the human resources department of our business. Developing the HR Handbook, rules of engagement as an employee, expectations of the staff as a whole, and guidelines to be followed when these certain conditions of the handbook were not met are only some of the aspects of the business plan that we focused on. This in-depth project did not necessarily give me hands-on human resource experience, but it did allow me to understand what a good HR department would follow in the training and development of their employees!
