Gavin Finlayson maintains a broad advocacy and advisory practice in complex commercial litigation disputes, with a specific focus on insolvency and restructuring litigation and class actions. He has been counsel in litigation before all levels of courts and administrative tribunals in Canada, including the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court of Canada, and has appeared before the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in cross-border hearings and trials. Gavin represents clients in a broad variety of industries and business sectors ranging from bondholders, to biotech companies, and to companies involved in the legal cannabis industry. Gavin has played a key role in many complex and notable Canadian restructurings and class actions and has developed a particular expertise in multi-jurisdictional proceedings.
