Background

About Gavin Oconnell

I have completed my education at the University of Rhode Island where I received my bachelors in French and International Studies and my masters in International Relations. I held two temporary on campus positions. Peer Ambassador at the office of international education where I represented the international studies and diplomacy program, improving my public speaking and presenting skills. Graduate Research Assistant at the social science institute for research education and policy (SSIREP) where I enhanced my administrative and organizational skills by assisting with updating the website and organzing events. I also worked part-time at Starbucks starting in 2020. I now work at Starbucks full-time in Rehoboth Beach Delaware where I have recently been promoted to Barista Trainer. I am looking to find employment in the DC area as a research assistant/policy assistant. My education has trained me well for this field and I have particular interest in conflict studies and international development.
