About Gbenga S. Bamidele

Gbenga is a thorough statistician, academia, program evaluator, monitoring, evaluation and assessment expert with several years of work experience in learning assessments and building schools monitoring Systems. He is well knowledgeable in the use of statistical software (Stata, SPSS, R, Nvivo, complex spreadsheets) as well as applying statistical and econometric skills in data modeling, time series analysis, propensity score matching, difference in difference design. On the USAID/Northern Nigeria Initiative Plus (NEI Plus) Activity, Gbenga worked as the Monitoring, Evaluation and Assessment Specialist with Education Development Center where I provided technical support for the design and implementation of quality programs for the Nigeria activity and oversaw technologies to strengthen the monitoring and reporting of program activities. Coordinated M&E activities with technical and management team members and was also responsible for submitting relevant project data to the USAID MONITOR. Also led the learning research component of the activity in conducting language transition studies, mainstreaming studies of pupils, Oral language modules and in the adaptation and the institutionalization of the Local Education Monitoring Approach (LEMA) in Bauchi & Sokoto States. He also supported Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL KEFSA Education program) in developing assessment cascade, designing the activity MEL Plan, development of M&E system and supported the Kebbi State Government in designing a scalable coaching, mentoring & monitoring strategy which can be integrates into the existing structures and systems. Worked as a Researcher and Evaluator with APIN Public Health Initiatives/ICARES CDC Funded project where he supported in development of targeted research topics on public health issues and the implementation of evaluation protocols. Currently supporting Jigawa, Kano & Kaduna State Government to design a robust monitoring systems & providing technical support towards strengthening the capacity of government officials at all levels to understand and respond to data for better decision-making and to strengthen education systems to improve foundational skills in reading and numeracy for children in the early grades.
