About Geddan Ruddock

I have a wide range of skills, which I have honed over the last two decades. I developed these skills through my participation in the sport of cycling, my travels and work overseas, and running my own business. I had to exhibit commitment, dedication & discipline in order to achieve what I have so far. I like the outdoors and have a great affinity towards nature. Being fit and healthy has always been a priority for me, I have been a competitive cyclists for over 20 years, and have been giving spinning classes for 10 years. I am also able to work in an indoor environment, such as a small office or retail shop. I place a big emphasis on keeping my workplace organized, tidy & presentable. Strong points include administration, good computer skills, and a knack towards graphic design. After being a competitive cyclist for 10 years, I started my own business called Franschhoek Cycles. I have gained invaluable experience about all aspects of owning and running a business. I have remained a competent cyclist taking part in numerous events. I have also organized mountain bike events, I am therefore competent in events management. I am adept at marketing events on social media, having set up Facebook pages for events, my business and an NGO. Most recently, I have been working for an the CHIC development foundation. Besides overseeing the day-to-day running of the NGO, I have able to start realizing my potential as a coach & mentor. Mentoring includes motivation, imparting knowledge, leading from the front, building confidence, while allowing space for people to make mistakes safely. Although most of my job experience has been cycling-related, I feel that the various skills I have developed, can be applied to other opportunities of employment. I am hard-working, reliable and can adapt to differing work environments. I am looking forward to all new challenges that the future may bring!
