About Geert Jacobs

As a youngster, i was passionated by the agriculture and horticultural activities of my parents. This passion triggered me for studying agricultural (bio) engineering @KuLeuven. I specialised in fytotechnics and automation. The combination of this fascinating study with typical student activities resulted in the time of my life. I continued with 3 years of specialisation in agricultural economics at Ghent University where i was involved in modelling on a micro-economic level the income of farmers and estimating the impact of sustainability measures on this income. A new world of optimisation technics and modelling opened and i used this knowledge in my first job at Radar Automation. Radar Automation integrated in the actemium -VINCI network, where i could continue my professional journey. Nowadays I'm an international consultant especially in the fields of optimisation, automation, MES and supplyplanning solutions for Actemium. Rendering our customers efficient, optimise the production processes and collaborating as well with our customers as with my internal team are major drivers for me. I combine this with a role as innovation and environment manager where i have a major interest in energy transition and developing a holistic vision on the combination of sustainability, productivity and profitability.
