About Geeta John

I am an Interior Design Consultant, currently Owner and Head Designer at GJ Studio (GeetaJohnStudio) Over the last 24 years or so, I have done both corporate and residential spaces, but my heart lies in home design. My special skill lies in turning simple cabinetry and stand-alone furniture into something more, by adding little details and flourishes that I've come to be known by. We work with different material- tiles, glass, metal and fabric to achieve a timeless appeal. I particularly enjoy doing custom kitchens and adding a personal touch to each space, no matter how small. I am supported by a wonderful team of craftsmen who love what they do and enjoy the challenge of creating these unique pieces. Previous work: Worked in Advertising - Ogilvy & Mather- both as a copywriter and as Head of the Film Department for 8 years Studied Interiors and furniture design in 1993, Started a private practice 1995 under the name of GJ Design, doing both corporate and residential interiors Have done a fair bit of set design and styling for ad films eg: Asian Paints, Oral B Toothbrushes, Aviva Insurance, Godrej Evita Soap, Anchor Switches, Knorr Soups, 3 Roses Tea etc Wrote a column for the World Space website- film and music based articles Wrote a weekly column for the Indian Express on Interiors Conducted a training program on Effective Business Communication in English for Computer Services Corporation, Chennai for their marketing team.
