My journey in life has always had a streamlined focus of helping others and making a difference to the lives I touch. During my time at Plymouth University, I dedicated 3 years to learning about music and how it could help those living with Dementia. I exercised this learning through my job of supporting adults in residential settings in the community, where I got the opportunity to bring about real change and receive real smiles.From completing my degree, it dawned on me that whilst it was such a privilege to support those who were living in residential settings, how amazing would it be to help individuals stay at home for longer?I joined Home Instead back in 2015 and never looked back. It’s a company which focuses on what our clients can do and works incredibly hard in partnership with other health care professionals to ensure the client at the centre of it all has access to everything they need to live well at home with independence. Offering continuity of care and a firm focus on building relationships, the company sets the highest standard of care we should all expect for our loved ones.Throughout my time at Home Instead, I have taken on various roles in the business to meet the requirements at the time. Home Instead always offers opportunities and as an opportunist I’ve always stepped up into those roles to take on new challenges and advance my learning. As of October 2021, I took on the leadership position, Head of Operations and Registered Manager. With this role, I now lead a team of keyplayers who cascade their support to all of our clients and care professionals in the field. We are a team at Home Instead and its with great pride to know that we all strive for the same thing, to be the best and to provide a quality service.My focus as a leader is growth of my team, not only in their skill set but as individuals too. I work hard to further develop my understanding and knowledge on business, strategy and how we can further extend our support out to more individuals in the community.
