About Gemma Blain

I am a results-driven leader with well-rounded knowledge in Human Resources coupled with Business Acumen that enables long-term cultural change for an array of organizations to include large globally matrixed, pre-commercial and rapid growth start-up organizations. With more than a decade of experience leading culture, inclusion and engagement initiatives, I serve as a key member of the Human Resources Executive Leadership Team. My technical knowledge and competencies include strat planning, compliance, talent management, learning & development, recruiting, employee resource groups, engagement, inclusive program design, ESG, and corporate social responsibility. I am the past Secretary for the Asian Business Association of San Diego and served my community as a Mayoral appointed Commissioner on the City of San Diego's Citizen's Equal Opportunity Commission. Born in San Diego, I graduated with dual degrees in Art History and Cultural Anthropology from UC Berkeley and completed my Master's Degree at National University in Public Administration emphasizing in Organizational Leadership and Development and Human Resources. I am also a proud USMC Wounded Warrior Spouse, mother, and a 2nd generation Filipina-American.
