About Gemma Gooch

I am a dynamic, results oriented and inclusive leader with extensive Foundation, Endowment and Client Relationship Management experience within financial services. I have worked for large complex global organisations including BlackRock and Merrill Lynch Investment Managers, as well as small entrepreneurial businesses in grant-making and client facing roles. After leading BlackRock's prestigious UK Charities and Endowments business, I transitioned into corporate philanthropy and social impact in 2020 after the establishment of the BlackRock Foundation, and was promoted to MD and Co-Head of Global Social Impact in 2021. This combined experience at an executive level allows me to bring a unique partnership-led and commercial approach to impact oriented goals. I am passionate about building and scale mission-driven programmes which jointly create business value and measurable impact at scale. I thrive on leading and building high performing diverse teams and have developed a reputation as a motivating people manager. I am a proud mother of a girl and boy who inspire me every day, and have a deep passion for social entrepreneurship, education and the environment.
