About Gemma Marr
I am a SSHRC postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Historical Studies at the University of New Brunswick (Fredericton campus) as well as a course instructor at the University of New Brunswick Saint John. I teach courses in writing and literature, with a speciality in Canadian literature. My research focuses on Atlantic Canadian cultural representation and history. In particular, I think about the ways that gender and sexuality intersect with, and are shaped by, the social, cultural, political, and historical specificities of the region. I am also the coordinator of The Lorenzo Society at UNBSJ, an arts and culture organization that brings writers, films, musicians, and more to the university and wider community.
