About Gemma Maskell

I am a dedicated advocate and educator with a deep-rooted passion for youth and mental health. My mission is to raise awareness, spark conversations, and shatter the stigma surrounding mental health in both the adult and youth sectors. I believe that everyone should feel comfortable discussing their mental well-being, and I am committed to making this a reality. Currently, I am actively engaged in this mission through my work at UKSA. As an integral part of the team, I teach mental health awareness classes to both adults and children, fostering an environment where knowledge and understanding flourish. My role extends beyond the classroom as I offer vital 1-2-1 mental well-being support to students, ensuring that their emotional needs are met and that they have access to the resources and services they require. In addition to my educational role, I am a designated safeguarding lead (DSL). In this capacity, I play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and welfare of all students, further reinforcing my commitment to creating a safe and nurturing environment.
