About Gemma Ossi

Gemma Ossi, born and raised in Annandale, New Jersey, is a senior at the University of Nebraska at Omaha where she is working toward a Bachelor of Science in Aviation with a concentration in Professional Flight. Her interest in aviation began growing up, watching her mother live the dream of working as an airline pilot. Her senior year of high school started the venture toward her aviation dreams with obtaining her private pilot license. Gemma has a profound passion for aviation and her intent is to gain diverse flight experience on the path to her highest aspiration of flying for a major airline. Through her time spent working at Melick’s Town Farm, a family-owned business that markets farm fresh products and authentic experiences, she has gained over two years of leadership experience and intimately knows the value of work ethic and communication, especially in challenging situations. Gemma is a dedicated student, holding the UNO Advantage Scholarship as well as a 3.909 GPA. She has been flying for two years with 460 hours total time, 145.5 hours PIC, 57.1 hours XC, and 12.2 hours of night flight. She is currently finishing her multi engine rating and will graduate from UNO in the spring of 2025. When Gemma is not busy flying or increasing her knowledge of aviation related topics, she loves to play the piano, cook, and walk or read outside. She is also actively involved in Alpha Eta Rho, the Upsilon Nu Omicron chapter, at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She has a sharp eye for detail, can learn and apply new information quickly, has a positive attitude, and is not fearful of making mistakes in pursuit of improvement and excellence.
