About Gemma Scott

Gemma Scott is a dynamic Instructional Designer. Her career began during a pivotal time in the transition from analog to digital workflows, and she enjoys working across platforms and media. Gemma studied Visual and Media Arts at Emerson College, as well as Film and Media Preservation at George Eastman House in Rochester, NY. After working as a media archivist for 6 years in Technical Services and Collections Management, she attended Graduate School at the University of Maine where she received her M.Ed in Instructional Technology. Gemma spent several years working on a variety of unique collaborative projects with local and national groups, and published her research on the History of Youth Media in Maine. In 2019 she joined the Division of Lifelong Learning at The University of Maine where she works as an Instructional Designer in the Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning. Gemma is a motivating individual with constructive communication and technology skills. She enjoys working independently and with a team supporting learners in formal and informal learning environments. She has presented at regional, national and international conferences. Outside of work Gemma is happily raising her family, cooking, traveling and making home movies.
