About Genesis Li
Genesis is a project manager, relationship builder, and people connector. Genesis graduated from Cornell University, Jeb E. Brooks School of Public Policy with her Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree in May 2023. Post graduation, Genesis has full-time worked as the Campus Engagement Coordinator at Chesterton House (a study center at Cornell University). Currently, Genesis works at Gordon-Conwell as an Alumni Engagement Coordinator. Genesis worked as a Consultant for The World Bank Group in Washington D.C. Her passion for policy analysis, law, and veteran affairs also led her to do a Congressional internship in Congresswoman Cheri Bustos's office in Illinois (IL-17). Genesis was the former Vice President of Communications in Cornell University's Graduate and Professional Student Assembly. In a United Nations global city leader project involving data collection on urban cities in 6 continents, Genesis served as the Project Manager at Cornell University, School of Architecture, Art, and Planning. As the Project Manager, Genesis led a world's first initiative on surveying global city executive leaders with data drawn from the United Nations universe of urban agglomerations of 1,860 urban agglomerations in 156 countries with a minimum population threshold of Genesis led a team of 28 researchers in 6 continents (in-person and online coordinations) to create the survey instrument and supporting materials, which were translated into 23 languages. This massive project required Genesis to be excellent in Microsoft Office and Qualtrics. The global project was in collaboration with six international organizations, including the UN-Habitat, Slum Dwellers International, United Cities and Local Governments, ICLEI, and the Mayors Migration Council. This unique experience has trained Genesis to be highly efficient in interpersonal communication and stakeholder engagement. With Genesis' passion for human rights, education, and nonprofit management, she worked for an education nonprofit organization in Washington D.C. for 2 years (i.e. Youth for Understanding USA). Genesis' interests in international development, immigration policy, and refugee resettlement led her to work in a local nonprofit for another 3 years (i.e. World Relief, an organization assists immigrants to settle down in the U.S.).
