For some, music is a form of art, for others it is a way of life. That sentiment rings true for singer/songwriter Genesis Anastasia Thomas, who finds music to be her passion and her purpose. Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, the 27 year old song bird is the youngest of 9 children. Being in a large family that nurtured her gifts ultimately prepared Genesis for the stage. At an early age, Genesis displayed a love for various styles of music and a strong interest and talent for singing. Moreover, she loved being the center of attention, large crowds never frightened or intimidated her. In fact, it inspired her and challenged her to push beyond her limits, and accept the extraordinary. As performing opportunities presented itself to the multifaceted performer, Genesis began to focus on honing her craft and building her brand. With hard work, a proper education, and determination, Genesis began to exceed her own expectations, much to the delight of her parents Henry and Gardenia Thomas, who always encouraged her to be herself and follow her dream. The result of that encouragement led Genesis to perform in multiple concerts, plays, and musical productions. Genesis was cast as lead characters in the musicals ONCE ON THIS ISLAND (TIMOOUNE), THE WIZ (DOROTHY), RUTHLESS (JUDY DENMARK), THE BLACK NATIVITY ( MARY) AIN'T MISBEHAVIN (LEAD SINGER) and DEAR EDWINA (EDWINA SPOONAPPLE) among many others. Although acting is another strong talent of hers, Genesis first love is singing. She never shunned an opportunity to perform and was well received at every function she lent her voice to ( wedding, funerals, community shows, talent shows, choirs) and always remained a humble spirit and grateful for the opportunity to share her gift. Genesis was clearly born to entertain, and looking forward to a future in entertainment. Her goal: To take the music business by storm by promoting her unique style of music while remaining true to her own brand
