About Genevieve Comino

I am a Professionally Excellent (AIS) HALT: LEAD (NESA Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership) Accredited Australian teacher with a double degree; Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education from the University of Sydney with a double major in English and History. I have three teaching areas including; History, English and TESOL (Teaching English as a Second Language). I am the Coordinator of Accreditation P -12 and Assistant Coordinator of English and a full time English Teacher, teaching the International Baccalaureate Diploma and the High School Certificate Course to senior students at Redlands. I am dedicated to enhancing my own teaching and student learning as well as that of my colleagues, while upholding the ethos of Redlands. My AIS Research Project and LEAD Teacher Initiative was praised by AIS and NESA, for incorporating Harvard research on deep learning to improve productive learning environments and consistency in delivering the Stage 5 English curriculum across Redlands' Winter and Cremorne campuses. This project fostered positive impacts through consistent dialogue and collaboration, leading to increased student confidence, academic growth, and improved teaching practices. My pedagogy is centred on fostering a collaborative and reflective learning culture that encourages continuous improvement and innovation in educational practices.
