About Genola Thomas

I am a proud woman of color who embraces and believes in the power of higher education. As a First Generation college student, I have a soft spot for up and coming First Gen students. I enjoy the work and responsibilities of counseling within California Community Colleges and have dedicated myself to community college student success. Since 2015 I have worked in various Counseling intern and Adjunct Counseling roles and plan to continue working in the field of Counseling for as long as possible.As my college experience was not that long ago and also served as a crucial developmental milestone in my adult life, I understand all too well the importance of receiving sound advice to make informed decisions. I also understand the importance of students seeing people who look like them and have similar backgrounds to them on THEIR campus.
