About Gentry Jenkins

My journey in accounting began when I made the decision to attend Peralta Community College where I received a Associate of Arts in Business Accounting and soon after transferred to Dominican University of California and chose to capture a B.A. in Business and Accounting. Upon completion of a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting my focus would be to work in public accounting for 2 years which would accentuate the qualification for the CPA accreditation. I chose to pursue accounting to follow my desire to be a financial professional with emphasis on helping others reach their financial objectives. While attending Dominican University, emphasis was also prioritized to be a member of the Dominican Accounting Finance Association (DAFA). During the final semester at Dominican University I was enveloped in a community outreach program "Leadership on Fire" where our team devoted time to help create a better understanding of philanthropy and community awareness on the ever present issue of hunger in the local Marin community. Working hand in hand with Irina Morozova and Gianna Valero also from Dominican University and 5th graders from San Raphael School, my friends and associates engaged in a pilot program which gathered over 1500 cans and food items that were donated to the local Saint Vincent de Paul chapter to solidify their success in creating better local awareness. This experience helped provide a knowledge pipeline where information and understanding could be passed down to the younger generation and developed for a long term benefit. Outside of my academics, I enjoy riding bikes and love the challenge of flattening big hills, believing it is good practice, that when confronted with an obstacle not to capitulate but to push on until it is flattened and is true off the bike as well.
