I ran a wine shop called Bin 905 in Calgary for 20 years and under my direction it gained a reputation as one of Canada's best wine stores. Sadly the owner passed away and the store sold to a company I had no desire to work with. I'm an experienced General Manager with over 30 years history of working in the wine and spirits industry. Skilled in Food & Beverage, Advertising, Editing, Event Management, and Media Relations. I also work as a wine and food journalist for the Calgary Herald. I was the first Canadian to be awarded a fellowship at the Symposium of Professional Wine Writers in Napa Valley. I've been published in numerous magazines including Gourmet Magazine, City Palate, Vines and Orange Life to name a few. Strong sales professional graduated from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust, level 3. I regularly appear on local television networks to talk about wines and spirits and I've traveled the world extensively as a wine writer and buyer. I instructed cooking classes at The Cookbook Company Cooks prior to the pandemic. I have worked for short stints in wineries just to get some hands-on experience in winemaking. Hosts a radio show called the Road Pops on Fridays between 4-6pm at CJSW 90.9 fm. I joined Kensington Wine Market as the wine buyer in July 0f 2022.
