About Geoff Murray

Currently working at Veterans Affairs Canada in User Experience (UX) Design and Service Design. I spent 6 months with the Service Design team and have switched to full-time UX work while maintaining my connection to the SD team by jumping in from time to time to help out and keep my skills fresh. I love designing for usability and working with dynamic groups to explore creative and fun methods of gathering data. Since graduating from the BISD program at Holland College in PEI in 2002, I have been working in the IT industry both in Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia with an emphasis on standards-compliant web design and development. After this I worked primarily as a Clinical IT specialist for Cardinal Systems based in Paris, France. I provided a first point of contact for Doctors, Monitors and Study Coordinators all over North and South America that were participating in clinical trials. My additional responsibilities included technical support, user training, user account creation and maintenance and weekly database reporting. Recently I worked at Diversified Metal Engineering (DME) in PEI. DME is one of the world leaders in stainless steel manufacturing, primarily in the craft brewing industry. They have fabricated over 750 craft breweries all over the world. I was brought on board to implement and maintain the Quality Management System, and have since taken over Preventive Maintenance and Document Control as well. It is an amazing company and an amazing product.
