About Geoff Visgilio
I am a career changer who is moving from healthcare to writing and publishing. I went to graduate school for acupuncture and enjoyed both the philosophy behind East Asian medicine and the holistic nature of the work. My dad was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2015. One of the most prescribed and proven methods of slowing the progression is exercise. I turned my focus to Parkinson's fitness and was introduced to the Rock Steady non-contact boxing program for Parkinson's patients. I worked for a Rock Steady organization in Pawtucket before starting my own program in Westerly in 2018. COVID was rocky for us and coming out of it, I had to accept that burnout is a real and lasting problem. My first love has always been writing. I am an award winning author and have had my hand in one writing project or another for the last 30 years. I am uncertain where this fork in the road will lead, but I know I am more myself now than I have been in a long time and that I couldn't have arrived here without all the life and professional experiences that came before.
