With over a 20 years of professional experience, I'm currently overseeing the Environmental program at the True North Mine site owned and operated by 1911 Gold and located in Bissette, Manitoba Canada. My current role as Environmental Superintendent and includes the responsibility of oversight and management of the Environmental Program for 1911 Gold True North mine sites and complex as well as oversight of the environmental regulatory compliance and reporting requirements for the site (i.e. Provincial, Federal - Env. Act Licence - EA, MDMER, TDG, ect.). My role and responsibilities include ensuring the execution of all environmental monitoring, environmental effects assessment monitoring and oversight of all environmental field programs and including the all administrative aspects of this role including but not limited to report writing and maintaining the current and historical environmental databases. My role also oversees the management of all wastes (liquid/solid) that is generated from current and historical activities at the mine sites (5 mines total within the mine lease owned by 1911 Gold) including management of all hazardous and specialized wastes (i.e. oversight of regulated Cyanide storage facility and other industrial chemical storage and disposal facilities onsite. The current role and responsibility with respect to ongoing operations is primarily focused on the management of the Tailings Management Areas (i.e. two (2) tailings ponds, one (1) polishing pond and the oversight and management of all regulated (MDMER) discharges to the environment from these containment facilities. I am responsible for the review/revision and implementation of the Mine Closure Plan - MCP and any other remediations and/or rehabilitation that are required as part of the regulatory approval and permitting processes or respond to an unintended environmental issues (i.e. spill) or coming across unknown environmental impacts, heritage resources or other unknown risks.
