About George Cabanas

A native of Key West, Florida, George began his notably diverse professional career as an enlisted member of the United States Marine Corps. Upon leaving the Marines, George gained valuable experience in project management and Information Technology (IT) consulting within a variety of industries including manufacturing, public education, digital communications, oil & gas, acute and episodic healthcare. At the executive level of healthcare IT, George was known as a process analysis expert and turnaround leader for high impact, failing projects. In 2010, George left corporate business to become a Special Agent in the United States Secret Service and served until 2016. Beyond his diverse business, technical and financial expertise, George is an experienced community leader with numerous years coaching semi-pro, high school and youth football. George retired from the USCGR in 2022, but was called back to active duty to continue work on the USCG’s Electronic Health Record acquisition team. George also completed his second masters (M.A. in English) in 2023. He is currently pursuing his Doctorate of Education, Instruction & Performance Technology.
