My professional journey show cases of extensive experience in academia, research, and applied projects. At the Tribunal de Contas do Estado de Pernambuco, I led a team of undergraduate students focusing on advanced data preparation and analytics for municipal expense audits. Our projects range from conducting ETL processes on raw data in order of implementing effective scoring mechanisms for prioritizing potential audit targets to developed semi-automated tools for auditing medicine procurement, significantly improving document processing efficiency. I also led a team for developing a scrap and mining news project to identify potential public management irregularities, showcasing a blend of technology and governance.As an Associate Professor at the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco (UFRPE), my experience combines theoretical expertise with practical applications in fields like Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. I not only taught diverse computing modules (mostly related to AI fields) but also contribute to research in cutting-edge technologies and regularly participate in academic journal/conference as a reviewer. At the University of Birmingham (UK), as a research fellow, I conducted a project on online classifiers for software defect prediction, addressing challenges like class imbalance and concept drift. This endeavor resulted in multiple high-impact publications and demonstrated my ability to tackle complex research problems with methodological precision, statistical validation and academic rigor.Earlier in their career, as a Research and Development Scientist at Neurotech, I developed a statistical model responsible for optimizing the storage of highly expensive electricity items, achieving substantial financial savings for the Brazilian electricity company CHESF. This role highlights my proficiency in applying data-driven solutions to real-world problems, blending technical expertise with a strategic outlook.
