About George Cox

28+ years experience as a producer, art director, background painter, layout artist and color stylist. I'm an organizer, streamlining the production process and increasing efficiency wherever I work. I'm an innovator, helping to create new and unique ways of making art beautiful, accessible and practical. I started out as a comic book colorist, working my way through the ranks of independent startup publisher Malibu Comics, helping to build the industry's first 24 hour digital coloring department. I then made the jump to animation, working with Hanna Barbera Cartoons during their transition from hand painted cells to digital ink & paint. Then, a dream position with Walt Disney Imagineering, creating the world's first indoor theme park,"Disney Quest"​, where I helped develop a revolutionary large format printing process. Over the last several years I've been back in animation, working for Warner Brothers, Sony, Hasbro and most recently Renegade Animation. In addition to working as a background painter and color stylist, I applied that experience into database tracking systems, streamlining many production tasks like artwork creation and retake cost tracking, and eventually into animation and art direction, which led to my position as an Associate Producer at Renegade. All these years of experience working across multiple industries is what has made me the well-rounded artist, administrator and organizer that I am today. With experience across many disciplines I offer a unique perspective and combination of skills that makes me a valuable addition to any entertainment company. When I'm not painting or organizing something, you'll probably find me playing with my dog Miles, volunteering at the local dog rescue, or carving tikis.
