Background

About George Drummond

I have been driving large vehicles since gaining my CE entitlement in 1998 in the British Army, for my role of Recovery Mechanic. While in the Army I drove in many different countries, different situations and helped with the development of those new to the role. Shortly after leaving the Army in 2004, I started in the petrol tanker industry for a major supermarket. In 2014 I joined the training team as a driver trainer, carrying out driving assessments for job applicants, new starter training and coaching, annual assessments on the workforce and remedial training when needed. I carried out annual classroom training specific to the job roles, manual handling assessments and kept the training records up to date and in order. In 2019 I passed the RoSPA advanced driving test at Gold standard and also passed the RoSPA Level 4 Diploma in Advanced Behavioral Driver Training, with Distinction. I am involved in setting up a program for the company to assess and coach drivers to advanced level, involving on the road coaching and classroom sessions. I have overseen training at my local depot and at out bases around the country.
