About George Gerrish

In 2023 I graduated from the University of Brighton, with a First Class Honours degree in LLB Law with Criminology.During my studies I have had the opportunity to engage in voluntary roles, which has enabled me to make a positive impact on people's lives, during some of their most difficult experiences.I was able to spend time with Sussex Police as an Evidence Facilitator. My role consisted of working in a live link site, helping vulnerable witnesses and victims of crime provide evidence remotely and safely.I have also volunteered for CLOCK, a legal companion scheme situated in the private sector of family law. My position was originally virtual due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, however, I was able to spend some time working out of our office based in the Brighton Family Court. This role consisted of the assistance in filling out court forms, arranging papers for formal proceedings, and note taking.Finally, at Brighton Legal Clinic as a student clinician. The Clinic is a Pro Bono service offered by the University of Brighton. This position provided me with invaluable experience, and has given me the opportunity to develop skills such as interviewing, researching, and providing legal advice. All advice provided to our clients was under the supervision of a qualified professional. During July 2023, the University of Brighton presented me with an award for my work with the legal clinic.I am highly dedicated and hardworking, with an ultimate goal of qualifying as a Solicitor.
