I was an IT Project Manager for Old Mutual until I relocated to the United Kingdom with my family in December 2016 so that my wife could pursue a career opportunity in London. I’ve taken a sabbatical since arriving in the UK to focus on settling my family and I am now ready to explore opportunities within the UK job market. As an IT Project Manager, I have experience in implementing both IT and business-related medium to large projects (3 to 18 months) within the financial services industry being responsible for the full project life cycle from the initial scoping and budgeting phase through to final delivery. Projects included IT infrastructure and hardware upgrades and replacements as well as delivering solutions to the business to address various regulatory requirements and transformation initiatives. Examples include regulatory required implementation of Personal Protection of Information Act (PPI) and Effective Annual Cost (EAC) as well as process re-engineering initiatives. In addition, I was responsible for Change, Incident and Problem management as well as Release/Implementation Management in my department. I managed 6-10 IT staff members and worked with the business to align IT and business resources, manage stakeholder expectations, drive key decision-making processes and manage any scope changes to deliver within agreed timelines and budgets. Projects were delivered in accordance with project governance standards utilising the Waterfall and Agile project methodologies and Project Office as a management tool. In addition to project management skills, I have technical experience in using mostly Microsoft based technologies with Visual Studio C# as my core language, a good SQL & SQL ORACLE skillset with a focus on management layer applications interfacing with a user front-end and server environment builds and configurations of new servers for development and production environments. I am looking for both short term or permanent opportunities to utilise my skillsets in an environment that will challenge me and allow me to continue to develop my IT project management skillset.
