Experienced Executive Director with a demonstrated history of success in operations, fundraising, community outreach, volunteer management, and event execution in the museums and non-profit industry. Hearthstone is the first residence in the world to be lit using hydroelectricity and an Edison central power system. The residence, built in 1882, is a sumptuous example of Queen Anne style architecture, designed by a leading architect of the day, with breathtaking interiors filled with period art. The museum has seen unparalleled growth during my tenure, not only in terms of attendance and revenue, but in exceeding industry preservation standards and in its status as a leading historic home museum in the state. The museum is now known for innovative exhibits and events that draw repeat visits from those in the community as well as new guests from across the US and the world. Hearthstone is now listed as a top destination in the state on multiple travel sites. In addition to responsibility for all aspects of operations, additional roles include- Creative Director writing all tours (including those for adults and students), special events, and theatrical performances that are the highlights of the museum's annual offerings and which drive return visits from area and out-of-state residents. The museum offers a new tour, event, or exhibit every month- Volunteer coordinator interacting with all prospective volunteers, designing and implementing all training for front of the house volunteers (docents and greeters), communicating with volunteers, and scheduling volunteers for tours, special events, and routine maintenance of the residence- Website designer and webmaster creating a dynamic, mobile friendly, and informative website that changes every week. Other skills brought to bear include- Strong business development professional with a Juris Doctor from University of Georgia School of Law- Strong media interview skills with great relationships with local television and radio outlets- Extensive successful fundraising for a wide variety of worthy causes- Skilled in Collaborative Leadership, Public Speaking, and Strategic Planning.
