After a 40+ year career focused on complex commercial and intellectual property litigation and trial work in large national and international firms and IP boutiques, I have decided to join Practus LLP as a partner. Practus is a virtual firm with approximately 50 partners located across the country. I joined Practus because, with overhead much lower than brick-and-mortar firms, it gives me more flexibility in dealing with clients. During my career, I have handled numerous high-stakes matters for Fortune 500 as well as smaller companies in federal courts across the country in the specific areas of patent, trademark, copyright, e-commerce, trade secret and related contract and antitrust-related claims. My cases have involved the fields of automotive products, biomedical devices, computer hardware and software, cable and satellite television, biodegradable plastics, brewing, real estate franchising, telecommunications, and consumer products. I have handled appeals in the Federal Circuit, 7th Circuit and 10th Circuit Courts of Appeals and have substantial experience handling commercial litigation matters, including contract and antitrust disputes. My antitrust experience has been in the areas of predatory pricing, price fixing, sham litigation, and patent misuse. I have also successfully represented a patent owner in inter partes review proceedings in the Patent Trial and Appeal Board involving fiber optic switching. In addition, I earned a Certificate in Mediation from the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at the Pepperdine University School of Law and have represented clients in countless mediation proceedings and settlement conferences in court.
