I’m a lifelong technology executive with a focus on mobile apps since 2010. I’m the CEO and cofounder of a new company called NearMeEntertainment™. We recently launched our first app called VegasNearMe™. The VegasNearMe and NearMe Entertainment concept came to me in 2017 when I missed a Journey concert because, at that time, it was next to impossible to keep up with the overwhelming number of Vegas entertainment options. VegasNearMe solves the problem. This single app eliminates the need to consult dozens of individual apps and websites and call numerous venues to find out what’s happening in Las Vegas. It’s like having a world-class Las Vegas concierge in your pocket. VegasNearMe offers the most accurate and comprehensive information on everything fun to do or see in and around Las Vegas. It revolutionizes the way people learn about, choose, and book Las Vegas activities. Eventually, with local sister apps, it will do the same in other cities around the world. Nearly $3M and hundreds of people-years of work by a world-class team has been invested to create the VegasNearMe app/business. Prior to founding NearMe Entertainment, I worked with various technology companies including Hewlett-Packard, Interactive Systems, and Sun Microsystems. While at Interactive Systems I co-negotiated the sale of the company to Sun Microsystems. I joined Iomega in 1993 where I directly managed the wildly successful Iomega Zip and Jaz businesses from initial concept to volume shipments. During my tenure, Iomega grew from $141M in 1994 to $1.2B in 1996, achieving the fastest growth in the history of American business at the time. Iomega stock was the top performer on all exchanges in 1995, growing from a split-adjusted 70 cents/share in 1994 to $150/share in 1996. In late I left my position as General Manager of Iomega Software to start my own consulting company called We helped dozens of companies implement a refined version of the Iomega product design and development process, which is based on deep customer research. I leveraged the same process to create the VegasNearMe app and NearMe Entertainment. After moving to Las Vegas in 2009 I created the PokerNearMe app, which at the time was the world’s most comprehensive poker room/tournament information discovery app available. I partnered with the World Series of Poker & Caesars Entertainment in 2013 and sold the company to Overlay Gaming in 2014.
