About George Morley

Following the completion of my masters degree in Environmental Leadership and Management at the University of Nottingham, I joined Peopletoo through their graduate scheme in 2021. As well as introducing me to management and policy the public sector, studying in the environmental field ensured that sustainability was at the core of my principles which meant I was well equipped to work with partners on transformational change. Aside from this, I am not ashamed to admit that my knowledge of social care was limited upon joining Peopletoo. Though I was immediately introduced to all aspects of the business, including Adults and Children’s social care, Blue Collar and the Business Intelligence Hub which helped my knowledge and understanding develop quickly. It is then when the requirement for transferable skills from your degree become apparent, as much of the initial work is around brainstorming solutions, research and working with data. There is an immediate trust to engage with clients alongside colleagues with a view to building and maintaining stakeholder relationships, which is why communication, positivity and people skills are at the forefront of being a Service Manager. Now that I have been at Peopletoo for over 3 years, I have experienced working in teams of varying sizes, with many Local Authorities and across multiple subject areas within health and social care. The increase in responsibility involves taking a greater role in project delivery, project management and effectively employing specialist knowledge and skills developed overtime.
