About George Okoth

Mr. George Okoth is a seasoned Public Health Manager with over 25 years’ experience leading and overseeing projects and institutional based health strategy development, and health systems strengthening initiatives in the public and civil society sectors in Kenya and other developing countries. Mr. Okoth is currently the MOI University College of Health Sciences Chief of Party for USAID 4TheChild OVC Program being implemented in five Counties (Kisumu, Siaya, Busia, Bungoma and Kakamega) providing overall management and operations of the project and report directly to the designated USAID Agreement Officer’s Representative (AOR). Prior to this appointment, Mr. Okoth was the CRS’ Program Manager - Partnership Capacity Strengthening and Local Leadership (PCS/LL) providing overall leadership to the PCS and Local Leadership (LL) initiative in Kenya and Somalia; and responsible for the overall management of the PCS and LL activities including the quality of programmatic implementation (including monitoring, evaluation, and learning) and administrative/compliance elements of the PCS and LL activities to serve the poor and vulnerable. Notably, Mr. Okoth was the Deputy Chief of Party for the largest Orphans and Vulnerable Children in PEPFAR/USAID funded MWENDO Project that was strengthening systems, structures and process of 18 counties AACs, County Governments and 42 local implementing partners in Nairobi, Coast, Nyanza, Western and North Rift Counties. Mr. Okoth ensured the delivery of high-quality programming and advanced the position of CRS as a leading agency in the OVC field. Mr. Okoth also ensured timely, high-quality and complete preparation of work plans, quarterly and annual reports, and any other reports required by the donor or the government. Mr. Okoth helped establish collaborative relationships with various line ministries e.g MoH, Department of Children Services, Gender and social services, education etc.
