About George Opsahl

I am the managing director of Kaizen Consulting NW, LLC, a business consulting firm specializing in small business growth and development in the Pacific Northwest. I previously owned and operated my own public accounting firm for over 30 years and during that time served clients large and small in a variety of different industries. Early on I became very interested in not only producing financial statements for my clients but also in gaining a real understanding of what the statements were telling me about the health of their companies. I wanted to be more proactive in helping my clients grow and improve their businesses. To broaden the experience I had already had from working with clients and managing my own firm, I joined the Strategic Coach Program. That program is designed to help business owners become more effective and to help them grow their businesses. It was my first experience beyond just the accountant's perspective and I loved it. Next I made a significant financial investment in Results Accounting Systems, a program designed for accountants to give them added consulting tools. Both of these programs were instrumental not only in helping my clients, but also helping me grow my small accounting firm to a 2 office firm with a team of 23 people. After I sold my accounting practice in 2009 I began working with Michael Walsh, founder of Kaizen Consulting Services, Inc. in Vancouver, BC. Michael has had remarkable success helping his clients achieve extraordinary growth and along the way has developed extremely effective methods. It has been personally gratifying for me to continue my work helping business owners achieve their personal goals by growing and improving their businesses. Kaizen Consulting NW, LLC has become a US affiliate of the Canadian company. I also continue to serve clients of my former firm, Opsahl Dawson.
