About George Watson

I am a BSc (Hons) Woodland Ecology and Conservation graduate with seven years of experience in the arboriculture industry. I have gained an in-depth understanding of forest ecology, habitat restoration and silviculture, plus practical skills for measuring forests and trees, using GIS software, and biodiversity monitoring. My career has furthered my passion for trees and my commitment to conserving forests for both nature and people; for tackling climate change and declining levels of biodiversity. I appreciate collaborating with like-minded people towards a common purpose and engaging with others who wish to be a part of nature conservation. I am a practical and hard working individual, as capable of physical work as I am of detailed, accurate report writing and data collection. In my own time, I enjoy hiking and I am hoping to further develop my outdoor skills in the future. I am a Member of the Institute of Chartered Foresters and the British Ecological Society and a competent user of ArcMap GIS, Microsoft Office including Word, Publisher, and Excel and I have experience using handheld gps devices.
