About Georges Laforge

Doctor (PhD) in economics, specialist in public economics of law, institutions and religions, perfectly polyglot, I have been working for 10 years in higher education, public affairs and consulting. I am convinced by the necessity of science, philosophy, arts, culture and daily reading. I am driven by the general interest. I thus joined the National School of Administration (École nationale d'administration ENA), renamed the National Institute of Public Service (INSP), where I am in charge, since 2022, of interministerial management, institutional development and educational implementation of the “common core", a national training and partnership program to the Grandes Écoles of public service in France (21 Schools of high French officials in 2024). I also have significant experience of 10 years (since 2015) in higher education, in French and English, in bachelor's and master's degrees, in the faculties of law, political science and economics, as well as engineering schools and business schools, with administrative, supervisory, jury and representation responsibilities, including in the central decision-making and consultation bodies of universities. I also have experience as a trainer in preparatory classes (intensive program to prepare examinations to enter in leading French Grandes Écoles) with, for example, INSP-INET-Sciences Po “Talents” preparatory classes or even "Capes" candidates (MEEF) as well as in continuing education with, for example, the Institute of Advanced Studies for Science and Technology (IHEST) and the Intelligence Academy (École militaire in Paris). At the same time, I am a researcher in law & economics, institutional economics, public policies and history of economic and social thought and facts, associated with the BETA laboratory - a research unit of the CNRS, AgroParisTech, INRAE and the universities of Lorraine and Strasbourg- as well as the INSP research teams. My work has also been the subject of research papers and several presentations at international conferences. Moreover, my interests in interdisciplinary and applied research lead me to publish articles for the "general public" and to collaborate on consulting activities and reports with institutions, ministries, associations. in France and European and non-European countries.
