About Georges Laforge

Passionately French Doctor (PhD) in economics, perfectly polyglot, passionate about higher education, convinced by the necessity of scientific research and the importance of culture and arts, I am driven by the general interest. I thus joined the National School of Administration (École nationale d'administration ENA), renamed the National Institute of Public Service (INSP), where I am in charge, since 2022, of interministerial management, institutional development and educational implementation of the “common core", a training program common to the Grandes Écoles of public service in France (21 Schools of high French officials in 2024). I also have significant experience of 9 years (since 2015) in higher education, in French and English, in bachelor's and master's degrees, in the faculties of law, economics, engineering schools and business schools, with responsibilities for administration, supervision, studies, jury and representation, including in the central decision-making and consultation bodies of universities. I also have experience as a trainer in preparatory classes (intensive program to prepare examinations to enter in leading French Grandes Écoles) with, for example, INSP-INET “Talents” preparatory classes or even "Capes" candidates (MEEF) as well as in continuing education with, for example, the Institute of Advanced Studies for Science and Technology (IHEST) and the Intelligence Academy (École militaire in Paris). At the same time, I am a researcher in law & economics, institutional economics, public economics and history of economic and social thought and facts, associated with the BETA laboratory - a research unit of the CNRS, AgroParisTech, INRAE and the universities of Lorraine and Strasbourg- as well as the INSP research teams. My work has also been the subject of research papers and several presentations at international conferences. Moreover, my interests in interdisciplinary and applied research take me beyond universities, Grandes Écoles and schools, by publishing articles to the "general public" and consulting activities and reports with European institutions, ministries, associations.
