About Georgia Mathews

I’m a purpose-driven leader with expertise in community philanthropy and collective giving. I’m passionate about shifting the power dynamics of structured giving, promoting democratic decision making models in philanthropy and funding for advocacy/systemic change at a national level. I’m Director of Philanthropic Services at Australian Communities Foundation, advising more than 480 sub funds, clients and the ACF Impact Fund, and overseeing the distribution of more than 1200 grants per annum. I Founded GiveOUT in 2016, a collective giving organisation for LGBTIQ+ communities, and have held board positions at a number of community grant making organisations. I’m a Director at GiveOUT and the Aurora Group and a NEXUS Australia Committee Member. I have previously worked at Inner North Community Foundation, Social Ventures Australia and Australians Investing in Women. I hold a Master of Social Investment and Philanthropy from Swinburne University of Technology’s Centre for Social Impact, a Bachelor of Arts from Melbourne University (History; Gender Studies), and a certificate in not-for-profit governance from the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
