About Georgia Nelson

I am passionate about science, medicine, and drug design and development. My career goal is to contribute to helping people and reducing suffering. Currently, my experience encompasses multiple stages of drug design and development including pre-clinical design, synthesis, and testing of novel drug candidates, phase 1 and phase 3 clinical trials, and quality control. Pre-Clinical Experience: Anti-cancer drug design during my undergraduate studies. This design was based on modifying known inhibitors using a structure-based method aided by docking studies. Anti-tuberculosis drug design, synthesis, and testing during my undergraduate studies and during my Honours year. This design was based on a hit during high throughput screening and then further modifications were made that were aided by docking studies. Clinical Trial Experience: Clinical Trials Officer at Nucleus Network. This included pathology management, data entry, query resolution, and phone reception. Clinical Research Coordinator at Nucleus Network. This involved coordinating clinical trials to ensure safety of participants and generation of high quality data by following protocol and adhering to GCP. Resource Coordinator at Nucleus Network. This involves coordinating the staffing requirements necessary for the conduct of clinical activities. Quality Control Experience: Laboratory Technician at Aloe Vera Industries. This included basic chemistry tests on both raw materials and finished cosmetic and medicinal products to ensure quality and consistency.
