About Gerald Burns

I am a commercial litigator and trial lawyer. I have tried complex cases to verdict in state and federal courts, before judges and juries and in private arbitrations. That trial experience enables me to help clients assess the risks presented in litigation and to develop strategies to represent and protect the client’s interests. My experience includes representing clients in such diverse fields as the chemical, communications, health care, and banking industries. I have litigated cases involving contract disputes, business torts such as fraud and unfair competition, restrictive covenants in the employment and real estate fields, trade secrets, partnership and other corporate governance disputes, product liability, eminent domain and real estate disputes. I have been named as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer for more than ten consecutive years in the field of business litigation, and for several years have been selected for inclusion in the Best Lawyers in America and the Corporate Counsel Super Lawyers®. I am a member of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, a national organization of trial lawyers who have achieved multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements. I also served two three-year terms as a Hearing Committee Member of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court’s Disciplinary Board.
