About Gerardo Petroccione

Gerardo Petroccione, PhD, is a Research Fellow at the Università Politecnica delle Marche and an Adjunct Lecturer in Banking at both Link Campus University and Rome City Institute. His expertise lies in the payments industry, with a particular focus on consumer behaviour and behavioural finance. He has served as a Visiting Scholar at NYU Stern School of Business (New York), Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (Barcelona), Prague University of Economics and Business (Prague), and Dublin Business School (Dublin). He is a National Board Member of the Italian PhD Society (SIDRI), where he holds the position of Delegate for International Relations, and he coordinates SIDRI’s "Report" Area. Gerardo is an Editorial Advisory Board Member of the EuroMed Journal of Business and a Fellow of the EuroMed Academy. He was awarded the Best Conference Paper Award at EuroMed 2024. He collaborates with the Editor-in-Chief of Bancaria, the monthly journal of the Italian Banking Association (ABI), managing the double-blind peer review process for the “Forum” section. He also contributes to Assonebb (National Encyclopedic Association of Banking and the Stock Exchange), working on the revision and restructuring of economic-financial articles for the Bankpedia website. He has completed the Advanced Training Course “Made in Italy, National Security, and Foreign Investments – The Challenges of Transition”, organised by the School of Economic and Social Policies “Carlo Azeglio Ciampi” (SPES Academy) for the academic year 2023/2024. Additionally, he is a Certified Chartered Accountant and a Freelance Journalist.
