About Gerardo Torres

As a Part D Manager and Coverage Determination Specialist at Doctor's Healthcare Plans, I leverage my PharmD and MBA credentials and my 12+ years of experience in managed care to ensure optimal medication therapy for our members. I have extensive knowledge and skills in specialty pharmacy, medical necessity, and pharmacy benefit management, which I apply to review HPMS memos, perform FWA data analysis, and participate in the P&T and Medical Committee. I also serve as a liaison between the health plan and the PBM, and support CMS audits, formulary building, and new process development. In my previous roles as a clinical and retail pharmacist, I have demonstrated leadership, teamwork, resourcefulness, flexibility, and problem-solving skills, managing different pharmacies and locations, and contributing to the growth and performance of small and large MAPD plans. My mission is to use my skills and tools to positively impact the company and the members in a work environment where coworkers' efforts are maximized through positive reinforcement.
